The most recent case occurred Saturday afternoon, when Coast Guard cutter Farallon, a 110-foot patrol boat from Miami Beach arrived on scene with a raft with two people on board approximately 20-miles southeast of Freeport, Bahamas. A Health Services Technician from Coast Guard Group Miami was dispatched to the scene, and determined the migrant needed immediate medical attention. The patient was then transferred to a small boat, and taken to ashore, where he was met by EMS for further transfer to a local hospital. The migrant who remained on board Farallon was transferred to the cutter Key Biscayne for today's repatriation to Bahia de Cabanas. Two days prior, a U.S. Navy vessel located eight migrants on a raft approximately 23 miles north of Villa Clara, Cuba.
