Coast Guard DART's assist local and state agencys during Midwest flooding

IOWA CITY, Iowa - A Coast Guardsman with a Sector Upper Mississippi River Disaster Area Response Team (DART) travels through a flooded portion of Iowa City, June 14, 2008. Coast Guardsmen with the DART's have saved eight people since arriving on scene Friday. DARTs consists of three flat bottom boats known as flood punts, capable of navigating in shallow flood waters and are accompanied by eight crewmen trained in flood response.
