ST. LOUIS - (From left) Coast Guard Capt. Sharon Richey, Commander of Sector Upper Mississippi River, speaks to Rear Adm. Joel Whitehead, Commander of the Eighth Coast Guard District, Scott Noble, Senior Vice President of Ingram Barge Company and Ed Henleben, Senior Vessel Operations Manager of Ingram Barge Company, about the flood impacted areas in the Midwest, while on board a Coast Guard HC-144A Ocean Sentry today.
The group took an overflight of the flooded areas, focusing on central and eastern Iowa, and northern Missouri. The goal of the overflight was to determine how to best utilize Coast Guard resources for the ongoing flood response operations.

ST. LOUIS - Coast Guard pilot Lt. John Pack conducts an overflight today in an HC-144A Ocean Sentry with the Eighth Coast Guard District Commander and maritime industry representatives in order to view flood impacted areas in the Midwest.
The flight afforded Coast Guard leaders the opportunity to share recommendations with the industry representatives on economic impact and resource readiness in flood-affected areas.

OQUAWKA, Ill. - Coast Guard Disaster Area Response Team crewmen (left to right) Petty Officer 3rd Class Adam Wong, Senior Chief Dave Wuest and Petty Officer 3rd Class Randy Wagner, all from Marine Safety Detachment Cincinnati, provide diesel fuel to workers to keep a generator running at a water pumping station here, June 18, 2008.
The water pumping station provides approximately 40,000 people in local communities with drinking water. DART crewmembers delivered more than 900 gallons of fuel to keep the generator running.

The Coast Guard Cutter Wyaconda is a 75-foot inland river tender homeported in Dubuque, Iowa.

IOWA CITY, Iowa - A Coast Guardsman with a Sector Upper Mississippi River Disaster Area Response Team (DART) travels through a flooded portion of Iowa City, June 14, 2008. Coast Guardsmen with the DARTs have saved eight people since arriving on scene Friday.
DARTs consists of three flat bottom boats known as flood punts, capable of navigating in shallow flood waters and are accompanied by eight crewmen trained in flood response.
